In 2012, I was thrilled to be commissioned by the Golf Channel to paint a mural for pro golfer John Daly in his Arkansas home. Known for his powerful drives and finesse on the green, John is a hometown hero and a colorful figure in the sport. The mural, intended for an episode of the Dave Feherty show, posed logistical challenges due to its size—over 9 feet tall—so I painted part of it upside down to fit my studio.
With a tight 10-day deadline, I completed the mural just in time, coordinating with a local wallpaper installer for setup. Despite potential snags with transporting the oversized canvas to Arkansas, everything went smoothly. Working on-site with John, his family, and the Golf Channel crew, I was welcomed into his world—a warm, family-centered compound that reflected his personality. The installation was flawless, and everyone was thrilled with the result.
