I had the honor of live painting at the annual fundraiser for Rosie’s Theater Kids, held at the Marriott Marquis on Broadway. The event celebrated honorees Cyndi Lauper and Jordan Roth, inspiring the theme of my artwork. During cocktail hour, I worked to complete the painting, which was later auctioned on stage by Rosie O’Donnell.
To my surprise, it sold for $15,000! Rosie then asked if I’d create a second piece, which she purchased herself, raising the total to $30,000. It was an unforgettable night filled with laughter, incredible performances by the kids, and enthusiastic support for a wonderful cause.
Rosie’s Theater Kids provides arts education to underserved NYC public school students, teaching life skills and building self-confidence through music, dance, and drama.
I had the honor of also painting murals in three of Rosie O’Donnell’s homes.
